Yasmin Everley Jewellery
Women's Silver Sterling Small Scorpio Necklace

Product Details

In Ancient Greece, the story of Scorpio is told in different versions of the myth of the great hunter Orion. In one, he comes across the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione and tries to pursue them. When they cry out to Zeus for help he transforms the sisters into the stars known as the Pleiades and causes a scorpion to kill Orion with its venomous sting who is then placed to protect them in the stars. From Yasmin Everley's Astrology collection, the pendant takes the form of a circle, which the Ancient Greeks considered the most geometrically perfect shape. It holds a cluster of the stars, accurately forming the constellation, which is held suspended in space by delicate wire. The chain is a rope chain, reminiscent of both the sailors who have used these stars to navigate through the centuries and our coiling strands of DNA. This pendant usually comes in bright polished silver but also looks great in oxidised silver if you prefer. The side view shows Sagittarius but illustrates the three-dimensional nature of the design.
