Throughout his debut collection for Helmut Lang, Peter Do utilised a motif of seatbelts, striping across everything from outerwear to suit jackets. However, the detail wasn't just a nod to Lang's use of similar buckles and straps, but also Do's own memories of the freedom of first having a car after immigrating from Vietnam to the United States, which he described as an inspiration for the functional luxury he aims to design for Helmut Lang. These trousers from the collection showcase the seatbelt detailing on each leg, a twist on the classic tuxedo trouser satin detailing.
