As seems to be the running trend with all my content this semester, I’ve been meaning to share this shoot of mine for a while now (beyond the odd portfoilo shot on my work site). Even now, severely delayed, I don’t want to indulge too much in text and take away from the imagery. What I will say is that it took all of my will-power not to give fresh face, Hannah Waites, Arwen ears to match her Elvish bone structure and all-seeing baby blues; my new found affection for shooting against black paper in overcast daylight is hella real; I am fascinated with layering powder blues with the most neutral of neutral hues. Hannah was in Year 8 when I was finishing high school, and I distinctly remember telling our music director after a House Music rehearsal that she looked a lot like Rosie Huntington-Whitley-cross-Carolyn Murphy. He said he didn’t know who either of those women were, but he was sure they were lovely.
This is true.
Hannah is also lovely. This was her first test shoot, and she nailed the lot in an hour and a half.
Even Rosie and Carolyn can’t do that.
