An ethereal introduction to my first Milan Fashion Week, Alberta Ferretti had me teetering on the precipice of a much girlier side that had, until last night, been well and truly buried in maternally regulated pre-tweenage wardrobes far, far away (indeed, I was the absolute least feminine in my corner of seating). While it is quite inevitable that I would add my token trousers under every skirt, dress and even that gown, with a few extra shirts for good measure and/or petticoating, Alberta’s Fall/Winter 2014 was both fantastical and proper in a way that only Italians can be, really.
I would see the likes of Elle Fanning, Sofia Coppola and Alexa Chung romping the town in these creations that seem to be created solely for the expertise of Camilla Akrans’ backlighting. And, perhaps that long one for Jennifer Lawrence for her next Oscar’s tumble?
Meanwhile, I’m backstage getting my paws on these wrap-around pointed flats – like Valentino, but rougher around the edges.
