Fifty Shades of Grey: Festival

While I would secretly kill to shoot Coachella backstage, excited newsletters titled ‘Festival Dressing’ and ‘Festival Fever’ have remained largely irrelevant to my inbox till now.

Something a little different for me – particularly given my preference of buying food over festival tickets. Indeed, these were in fact shot at a friend’s ‘Secret Garden (Birthday) Party’ in the mountains in Chiang Mai, which, aside from So Frenchy So Chic last weekend, is likely as close to a festival as I’ve ever been (though, to be fair, this birthday bash proabbly had more DJs present than BDO ever will).

So, while I would secretly kill to shoot Coachella with a triple A pass (or whatever it is) backstage, excited newsletters titled ‘Festival Dressing’ and ‘Festival Fever’ have remained largely irrelevant to my inbox till now – jointly caused by the tendency for such a dress code to end up in Venice Beach, middle America, Hackney Hipster, or just about butt naked, none of which are even remotely my style.

But you know – never say never. If I were to be dressing up for Big Day Out this weekend, these get-ups would probably be the go. Ladies, it was three times as humid in Chiang Mai as it will be in Sydney on Sunday, and, I was exploding powder bombs all over myself and glitter at poor Alex to get these shots for you, so you have no excuses for getting your whole damn kit off.

At least not on Facebook.
