There aren’t many things more flattering than an artist’s interpretation of you, except perhaps an artist’s interpretation of your style. I first happened upon Aaron Favaloro‘s work over coffee with Montarna in Newtown – he is simply amazing, she’d exclaimed. A few months later, Aaron drew up little me in Helmut Lang and Pierre Hardy for the relaunch of The Corner Shop at Strand Arcade here in Sydney, and I was very flattered.
A week ago on Instagram, Aaron tagged this little series of some outfits of mine, and I was very flattered again. There is something about his attention to detail and sense of humour that sits so well with how I see my personal style – never too serious, always experimental. And, despite his having collaborated with some of the industry’s finest and fanciest, he still manages to capture character
and understand his subjects (Aaron, that is literally how I would sit on a red fence under a cherry blossom tree…).
I also quite like the idea of myself carrying a bubble head on my shoulders, or perhaps having this little bubble-headed drawing of myself following me around two days a week.
