I have been a Peter Som fan since my middle-adolescent, Google Image stalking days – his Spring/Summer 2009 collection had a profound effect on my view on styling and print, and I was just as upset as the next industry fan when he wasn’t able to show last season. Som’s separates, in particular, are the intriguing kind that inspire a different way around your wardrobe. You want to wear them so often, that you pre-dream 101 ways and hope that every ‘nice to meet you’ is followed by ‘oh my god your skirt’. Spring/Summer 2014 is no exception – while Som did tap into a marbled exploration of his usual spring floral jacquard gig, these monochrome stripes and gatherings were the hip-sways that caught my attention on Day 1 of the NYFW whirlwind at MILK Studios.

Hope you’re having a glorious weekend.
