Twenty & Proenza

In celebration of my two decades of existence, I give you presents. Serious, serious presents (Translation: GIVEAWAY).

My family and I have never been birthday people, save a mid-life crisis comment and a slightly larger dinner feast. And I like it that way. Throughout my wider-eyed, higher-pitched years, I was happy to wish myself to that ‘prime’ twenty five on my own, contemplating every possible career permutation that I could land in, wearing my someday pierced ears, someday high heels and someday office with sweeping views of New York City (the latter remains very much ‘someday’ for perhaps another decade).

But, as of a week ago and just like that, I’ve been alive for two decades, and my friends’ younger siblings don’t know what it means to wear scrunchies and awkward sweaters, overdose on Iced VoVos, collect weird plastic stretchy rainbow chokers, and play Pacman and Jill of the Jungle on a grey box twice my size until my eyes turned square and all present were concerned. Which upsets me.

Enter stage right: Luisa Via Roma brandishing the reptile poplin of my dreams to drown my nostalgic sorrows. Such is the power of online retail, and ribbons, and shiny cardboard boxes. Am I superficial? Whatever.

To the point. As per every one of my birthday blog pow-wows over its past few years of pixel-dancing, there’s something in it for all you girls and boys (finally something for the freaking boys) anywhere on this globe. 500 Euros to spend on whatever you want at this little slice of luxurious Italia. No frills, just sweet spree thrills:

  1. Comment below and tell me what you’d drop your 500 Euros on and where you’d shake-shake-shake in it. Be creative – earn your shake. (Also leave your name and email so I know who I’m shaking with).
  2. Subscribe to Luisa Via Roma’s trendy as hell newsletter here.
  3. Share this party on Instagram (by regramming this and tagging @margaret__zhang) and/or Twitter (by retweeting this) and/or Facebook (by liking and sharing this). Every share within the next two weeks counts for an extra entry, so don’t lose out, and update me on what sharing you’ve done by replying to your own comment below.

Baby oh baby, you’ve got until midnight of June 16th AEST to get your name on that pot of gold, tell your significant other, mother, father, and second cousin twice removed, and then the world, that you did it. My Luisa Via Roma ladies and I will be judging and announcing the very next day – indeed, Luisa Via Roma loves a good shake.
