Hey Riviera

There’s nothing that gets me more excited about Summer than a hot afternoon breeze, a clear sky and a nod to the Italian Riviera in the form of printed wide legged pants.

There’s nothing that gets me more excited about Summer than a hot afternoon breeze, a clear sky and a nod to the Italian Riviera in the form of printed wide legged pants. Bec & Bridge’s Spring/Summer 2012/13 collection is one of my favourites from them yet, and is definitely playing a part in the planning process of a Europe (and thereabouts) trip for me next year. Can you imagine? Roaming the narrow and white bleached alleys of Asilah in Morocco and Bonifaco in Corsica – legs swimming in this printed glory and hair twisted up in a scarf I have of the same print?

Yes, please.

Until then, my little colony of brassy gold hand junk, and a well-worn favourite Bonds tee is keeping me grounded. Over the years, I’ve learned to find a balance in my jewellery. Not everyone can pull off Pamela Love’s more-is-more, but a few thin rings or bare hands can often look like an unfinished outfit – as DVF says, the accessories are the punctuation to your look of the day. On my little wrists, I find that one chunky look-at-me and four or five finer pieces works well. As you can see, my little claw, wishbone, heart and hook pieces wouldn’t be quite as striking without DIESEL’s solid dial to get your attention – on the other hand, having the watch on its own would scream brand-whore.

I just treated myself to this Michael Kors beauty, so I’m pretty excited to test out my theory with some of my favourite rose gold pieces.

What wrist junk do you guys wear?

P.S. is that makeup you see? The world is ending. All credit to Anni Hall who did my face and hair up for a pretty awesome shoot this afternoon! Can’t tell you about it yet though..
