A few days after her SS13 runway show, I spent some time at Diane von Furstenberg’s stunning headquarters in New York’s cutting edge Meatpacking District. Viewing pieces up close and away from the production and backstage frenzy of a Fashion Week runway, has always been far more exciting to me. The range of destinations and subsequent (though subtle) changes in embellishment and structure were so much more evident – and with the runway video running in the background, I was quick to find some personal favourites and a strange fascination for the Google Glasses. My understanding is that you can use the frames as a computer, as well as filming exactly what you see. Chatting to Diane about it a little later on, she explained that the team had pulled together a video featuring all the footage taken on the range of Google Glasses worn prior to and during the runway show – the result is that you can now experience as close to first-hand as possible, how it feels to be a model, a stylist, an intern, a makeup artist, and DVF herself.

But we digress – all these technical details aside, I know you’d like to know Diane’s favourite place to eat in New York, her advice for up-and-comers in this crazy industry, and her journey as a Princess. So I guess you’ll have to watch our little chat right HERE.
