I would also have liked to say that I worked oh so meticulously to achieve this soft light, but really it is probably better (and more honestly) attributed to the fastest execution of self-timer I've ever undertaken. A butler of sorts had been glaring at me through the gorgeous French windows of the property I was shooting alongside, and I really wasn't in the mood for any confrontation - a fashion blog really does sound silly when you break it down to definitions. Wealthy people these days...
Back to the story. I only realised last week that I hadn't shared this perfect shirt with you all since I scored its typically Versace brilliance at the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show back in February. Holly had explained that even if I didn't find anything, the $20 admission fee would be worth it just to see the wall-to-wall range of vintage. I walked out with this baby for $45 and a $150 Chanel blazer. So when I tell you need to be at the next show, you'd better believe me.
I love that this shirt in particular works so perfectly with a range of black textures. I've done black leather, wool blend, jacquard and of course the perfect textured origami goings-on of this DVF skirt.
Walking down the street after snapping these photos, a 5-year-old asked her mother why oh why I was wearing a skirt over trousers.
