David Jones Spring/Summer 2012

Tonight I had the pleasure of joining an elegantly clad crowd of figures on the beautiful 7th floor of David Jones for their uplifting Spring/Summer showcase of what’s hitting stores in the coming weeks and months

Tonight I had the pleasure of joining an elegantly clad crowd of figures on the beautiful 7th floor of David Jones for their uplifting Spring/Summer showcase of what’s hitting stores in the coming weeks and months. Needless to say, I’m very much sick of cumbersome layering that comes with Sydney winter, so the delightful array of prints, cutouts, higher hemlines and sun protection that hit the runway this evening has me excited for slightly higher mercury in New York (counting down the days!).

The best of the best designers, megababes Samantha Harris (bam), Miranda Kerr (seriously) and Jessica Gomes (SERIOUSLY), and Napoleon Perdis‘ signature brights aside, what I loved the most was the awesome guy standing at the end of the runway with a giant ‘SMILE’ sign and the happy vibes that ran throughout the show and the onlookers as a consequence. Sometimes, at Fashion Week, we get so caught up in the glamour and the production of a show that you forget to appreciate the concepts and inspiration behind those hours of slaving at the drawing board.

But, the moral of the story is still that Jessica Gomes is so hot it hurts.

Watch the video if you don’t believe me.
