Tibi Blush Leather Trim Shirt from My Wardrobe - STORETS Pleated Skirt - Alexei's Cargo Jacket - Claire Aristides Cocktail Ring

So here I am having a giggle to myself some time in that perfect hour of sunlight yesterday afternoon. With the colder weather upon us (I hate tights so I refuse to wear them), I feel like the best thing to do is to layer up with a variety of textures. Leather and silk have always been a fine pair - I, for one, spent the most part of the week looking for seats in libraries wearing leather pants and silk shirts. But here's something a little different: insanely sharp leather pleating, a bit of black leather finish to a blush shirt, and Alex's bulky cargo jacket to break up what would otherwise have been an exceptional Gossip Girl moment. I like that the sleeves end just as the skirt does - it makes for an excellent boxy silhouette without losing the pleat detail.

He still doesn't know that I have this jacket of his. Excellent.

There are no words for how excited I was to share this stunning piece of Claire Aristides with you guys - I met her beautiful self earlier this year, and the work that goes into a piece like this is nothing short of incredible. I never even considered that shapes of stones and how they're cut will completely change the aesthetic of a ring, as Claire explained to me. I like how clean and bright this particular one is in its simplicity. I'm hopelessly in love with some of her gold jewellery too - isn't this horseshoe bracelet precious!?
