Hi Hibiscus

This mish-mash of hibiscuses (yes, I just looked up whether it was ‘hibisci’ – alas, no) and greenery is the print that made me look twice at Lisa Ho’s SS12/13 show during fashion week and appreciate her work in a new and more youthful light.

Lisa Ho Hibiscus Print Jacket – COOEE Neckplate – Mister Zimi Laser Cut Leather Top – Something Else by Natalie Wood Pants – JLH for SIREN Shoes Keeko Heels from Wanted Shoes

This mish-mash of hibiscuses (yes, I just looked up whether it was ‘hibisci’ – alas, no) and greenery is the print that made me look twice at Lisa Ho’s SS12/13 show during fashion week and appreciate her work in a new and more youthful light. Up close, there’s so much going on – but step back and you have yourself a perfect transeasonal throwover. Had it been colder today, I would have added a white coat across my shoulders with the tropical lapel peeking out – but please, Sydney: don’t get any colder.

These track pants are the matching bottoms to the blazer I wore last week – the number of times I’ve worn them two to work without my boss noticing that they aren’t a business suit is pretty excellent. The ultimate comfort win, Natalie Wood. The high waist is fantastic to tuck things into – particularly tops with hem detail like the laser cut on this Mister Zimi leather – I love a good double take. That’s what happens when people notice little details.

The same can be said for this neckplate. Did you notice it was white plastic? No you didn’t. Did you know it comes in other shiny plastic/iridescent colours? If so, hat off to you for knowing about COOEE‘s excellence.

And now I’m going to go and lament the change in weather, study Criminal and Civil Procedure, and decide whether I want that watch everyone seems to have.

*love*

xx
