Set in a beautiful Darlinghurst church, complete with haze and dreamy lights, Manning Cartell's SS12/13 was a pleasant surprise of sporty femininity. Get me some of those dresses and knits.
It had come to that point in the day on the first day of Fashion Week when all parties and their high-heeled feet needed a significant pick-me-up. Set in a beautiful Darlinghurst church, complete with haze and dreamy lights, Manning Cartell's SS12/13 did just that. Accented by fluoro stripes, cut-outs, shoulders and body-hugging shapes, the girls definitely had the perfect balance between sporty and feminine silhouettes down-pat - MAC's understated, fresh make-up was an amazing supporting act.
Clearly, I adored the slightly stiff shell jackets, the drop-back knits and of course, the cut of those beautiful lantern dresses.
Needless to say, the entire room came out of that church feeling elated and ready to shop. Alas, we must wait 6 months. But at least we can dance to 212 until then.
People ask me what was my Fashion Week highlight - this was definitely one of them.
