The last time I spoke to Raffaele Ascione, he’d had his AW11 walk at London Fashion Week with a wealth of creative experience and a striking aesthetic. A year on, I feel a strange sense of pride sharing his latest collection with you all. This name is going places, and I’m damn excited to be writing about it.
What I love about this collection is that Raffaele has taken shapes that would otherwise be conservative, and inserted lace, staggered hems, and double the movement to maintain the dramatic silhouettes he’s become known for. Even with so much going on, each look somehow manages to stay on that impossible level of elegance. For me, the tailoring takes everything perfect from all my favourite Phoebe Philo moments – needless to say, I need that last shell top and maxi in my life!
Further to this, there are wide-legged pants and cropped tops involved.
You know me too well.
