LIFEwithBIRD is, without a doubt, one of my favourite Australian labels – and this morning’s SS12 show at the Sydney Opera House did not disappoint.

This time last year, I fell for LIFEwithBIRD’s beautiful draping, sheers and asymmetry – and I can safely say that the love affair is quite safe (and continues). The label’s Spring/Summer 2012 show was held at the Sydney Opera House’s Utzon Room, overlooking a sparkling harbour, and la crème de la crème of Sydney’s stylishly inclined. The collection breezed by in dreamy pastels and washed out prints on semi-sheer fabrics with very little weight – expect to billow when you step out in these pieces next Spring.

At the moment, I very much appreciate the calming effect of soft lilacs and mints – I’d be so interested to see and feel some of the pieces up close. Some of the jackets and tapered pants had such intriguing textures that, I’d imagine, would add such dimension to any basic ensemble.

What do you all think of the collection? The mint top and shorts look was definitely dead-centre to my sports-luxe obsession at the moment: all it needs is reflective sunglasses and a silver cuff.
