A lot of you sweet readers have noticed my slightly heightened interest in jewellery recently, and have emailed accordingly - maybe I'm growing up... God forbid! I'm going to start by saying that Mezi has definitely climbed its way up in my newly-bound books for each collection's range of sharp but simple shapes, always finding new ways to tell the world about classic silver and gold. Their latest Spring/Summer in particular is one of those successes that visually jigsaw into every possible ensemble you could pull out of your wardrobe - and the bank account suffers again. So, it's my absolute pleasure to introduce the designers behind the art, Tal Manning and Adva Punin, plus a little bit of insight into what goes on before Anja Konstantinova is staring you down, armed with amazing jewellery. Just to begin, how did Mezi come about? We both had an obvious passion to create beautiful and bold statement jewellry that was wearable with attention to quality. As sisters we combined our personal styles in offering a wide range of fashion pieces. Who's the girl who wears Mezi? She is confident and has an individual approach to fashion. She is not afraid to stand out in a crowd. She likes to make a statement with bold accessories keeping her outfit simple. I especially adore the different takes on a classic gold necklace from your SS11 collection - what were your inspirations? This is exactly what we love and a true representation of the label - a modern approach on classic designs. Modern Morocco is a constant source of inspiration taken from our background. We love the exotic feel gold evokes and love idea of layering gold. There are numerous gold tones to play with this season – anywhere from the antique brushed finish, the light shine on the Hamilton gold. What are your personal favourites from the collection?Tal – I absolutely adore the Mila cuff. The brushed gold mix with gun grey pyramid details is so wearable; it’s the perfect accessory to take you from day to night Adva – you’ll find me in the Megan necklace. The multi layer chain statement in Hamilton gold is beautiful and the perfect combo with the maxi dresses I’ll be living in to survive the summer heat! What does a piece of jewellery mean to you in an outfit? It’s the final touch to complete your look. Even though it’s the last thing you put on, it should be one of the first to consider. Who would you most like to see wearing Mezi? A girl who isn’t afraid to stand out and make a statement; all eyes on her when she enters the room. Where do you see yourselves in 5 years? With the same passion as we started! What are your thoughts on bloggers? Bloggers are as much today’s magazine editors! They set trends and push boundaries! Our last interviewee, designer Zoe Weir (of Zoe Elizabeth) would like to know: What's something that not a lot of people know about you, but you WISH more people COULD know? That we are both addicted to coffee and a very specific about what we have! We would do almost anything to get our coffee fix in the mornings. Look out the people in line at the coffee shop!
